Andrew Gaze is Australia's best known basketball star. An NBL player at 18 and the league's Rookie of the Year, Gaze played one year in American college hoops, leading Seton Hall to the 1989 NCAA title game where they lost in overtime to Michigan. Up his return to Australia, Gaze, playing under his father with the Melbourne Tigers, became the league's top scorer for 14 seasons and helped the team win two titles appear in other finals. Gaze played in five Olympic Games with the Boomers. He was flagbearer for Australia at the Sydney 2000 Games' opening ceremony. He is the scoring record holder in Olympic competition, and second-highest scorer of all-time in FIBA World Championship play. Gaze was a television commentator at the 2004 Athens Summer Games.

Ioannis Psarakis, who has been a basketball journalist for 21 years, was born in 1969 in the city of Nikea - the birthplace of Greek basketball legend Panagiotis Giannakis.
As a player and self-professed basketball addict, Ioannis has worked for several daily sports and politcal newspapers, including for 13 years at the historical magazine Triponto (Triponto means three-point shot in Greek). For four of those years, he was Triponto’s editor in chief. Ioannis now works for All Star Basket magazine, but also serves as a commentator for Euroleague, NBA and Greek League games for the Supersport Channel in Greece.
Ioannis has covered more than 40 international basketball events in Greece and around the world, including seven men’s EuroBaskets, EuroBasket Women, several U19 and U21 FIBA World Championships, one FIBA World Championship and 14 Euroleague Final Fours.
He has been a Greek correspondent for magazines in Italy, Argentina, the United States, France, Israel and Turkey. "I must say that I'm glad being here with all of you basketball fans around the world, waiting for the World Championship to begin... Let's get the (basketball world) party started!!!" - Ioannis.

After working for newspapers, radio and television stations, Stefano Valenti switched to Superbasket where he has been a staff writer since 1991. Superbasket was founded in 1979 and is the oldest and most famous basketball magazine in Italy. In his 15 years with the publication, Stefano has covered two Olympic Games, one FIBA World Championship (Japan 2006 will be his second), eight EuroBaskets (for both Men and Women), and several finals or Final Fours of every FIBA Cup competition (Euroleague Men and Women, Europe League Men, EuroCup, Saporta, Ronchetti), plus, one World Championship for Young Men 2001 (Saitama, Japan) and the first ever WNBA Finals, in 1997. He also contributed for publications like the Official Basketball Program for the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 and for "Dream Games, The Olympic Basketball Experience.
