Kirk Penney completed an outstanding college career at the University of Wisconsin. He led the team to the Sweet 16 in his senior year as well as two Big 10 Conference titles. In his final two seasons, he was the best player of the Badgers and averaged 16.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists in his senior year. Despite these good performances, he went undrafted and played only 6 games in the NBA, two with the Miami Heat in 2003 and four with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2004. He has also played in the Spanish ACB league and joined European powerhouses Maccabi Tel-Aviv last summer. He has not seen significant playing time for the Euroleague runners-up.
Penney is above all a scorer who never refuses an open shot. He is an athletic guard with good rebounding skills.
